The pages of this book hold a world of images for you. It is the work of one of the most important Cuban contemporary painters: Wifredo Lam.
With special sensitivity, Graziella Pogolotti approaches the painter's creations and manages to capture Lam's vast world in words. By means of enriching judgements, which show her vast knowledge, the author offers a critical interpretation of the artist's work which allows the reader to measure Lam's stature.
The critical analysis is followed by a chronology of the painter, drafted by the Centro Wifredo Lam and more than fifty plates that reveal his diverse artistic production. Lam's work has gone beyond Cuba's boundaries to become an expression of the Carribean culture.
