This wonderful book, aptly titled Baracoa Cuban paradise, covers everything one need to know about the most eastern city of Cuba – history, culture, traditions, nature, wildlife, local cuisine even its own anthem. Full of high-quality, colourful photography you don’t feel the handicap of not knowing the Spanish language to experience the true essence of the place. The author is renowned Cuban professor Alejandro Hartmann Matos, historian who lives and works in Baracoa as a curator of Museo de Matachin, city’s history museum. His writing style is informative and full of scientific data, however it is written in concise style comprehensible to everyone so the ones with the basic knowledge of Spanish won’t feel any hindrance in understanding the book.
